Greetings music lovers! Stavanger Carib Music Fest 2007 is history. Saturday 28 July we spread the vibes of Caribbean rhythms at two different spots in the city. During the day we had the scene down town (Tusenårsstedet) for two hours with 4 different acts: La Descarga, salsadancers, a local steeldrums band and Våland Rockers with MC Atlars on the mic.
Later on the party continued at Folken. First on the scene was William Helvik´s conscious roots/dub band Grønn Te. As the second act La Descarga played a session of salsa and funky chumba. Then Desmond Dekker Tribute Band entered the scene - the band featured top musicans as the legendary George Dekker (Pioneers, The Slickers), Ambelique, Delroy Williams and Desmond´s daughther Desrene Dekker. They played a set of classic ska/reggae killers. After that it was time for dancehall / roots by DJ Pharfar w/Jah Bobby on the mic. The show finished off with dancehall / bashment rhythms by the far north rulers; Troubletone Soundsystem. MC Atlars was up on the scene with some nice chatting over great rhythms with both Grønn Te and Troubletone. Big thanks to the crowd that made this to a top night.

Caribean Easter Fest at Sting introducing GRøNN TE (Green Tea). Grønn Te is William from Rubadub's sideproject. Norwegian lyrics and wicked rythms. Carib Crew DJ's, Atlars and Sally will also perform. Who knows what else will happen...? Bring some friends and check it out!

In collaboration with Tou Scene, Carib Music Fest hereby invites all music lovers to a Caribbean night at the biggest cultural premises in Stavanger. We offer an abundance of good vibes, happy faces and GREAT music. There will be contributions on the musical, lyrical and visual side, with a line-up consisting of dj cru Vaaland Rockers, the salsa band Montuno and the laidback CoffeeBreaks... We also bring professional dancers, slampoetry by AtLars and an On-the-wall big screen showing of the classic "Deep Roots Reggae"! Wear soft shoes!
